Good morning all
Sorry there has been nothing posted on this blog it was started and never continued on until a question was posted.
Here is the question and my response.
I see this is an old page, but going to give it a try. I have 17 iPads that I am going to use for our EMS division and need to manage them. I have been looking into MDM, and iPad configuration stuff and was hoping to talk to someone in the fire service that has already done some of this. on Welcome

17 Ipads is a big order. I am not sure what is available for EMS documentation currently. There has been talk of fire departments using remote access to do EMS reports. Since the IPAD will do signature capture it seems pretty straight forward. The big issue as I see it are updates and maintenance. Since you need ITUNES for IOS and program updates there are a couple of thoughts.
1. Have all the IPADS sync at a preset time and location to ONE computer. This will assure that all of the IPADS are updated at the same time.
2. Consider how you are going to charge the IPADS.
3. Consider how you are going to protect the IPADS from drops etc. We use OtterBoxes without an issue.
4. Remember whatever you use there is a learning curve so make sure there is training and follow up.
5. Thanks for kicking me to get this blog going.
